![]() Services available at the airport include painting, upholstery, turbine engine repair and helicopter sales. In April 2022, there were 82 aircraft based at this airport: 61 single-engine, 11 multi-engine, 6 jet and 4 helicopter. įor the 12-month period ending September 21, 2018, the airport had 16,250 general aviation aircraft operations, an average of 45 per day. It has two runways: 5/23 is 6,669 by 100 feet (2,033 x 30 m) with a concrete surface 14/32 is 4,979 by 60 feet (1,518 x 18 m) with an asphalt surface. Williston Municipal Airport covers an area of 1,600 acres (647 ha) at an elevation of 75 feet (23 m) above mean sea level. Future upgrades on the 2,000 acre (8 km 2) site include additional hangars, a corporate hangar park and a new fixed-base operator. An Automated Weather Observation Station ( AWOS) was installed at the airport by the end of 2005. A second, larger, runway was completed by 2002 and allowed for jet aircraft to use the facility. In 1992, it was selected as a preferred location for a regional airport within 20 miles (32 km). Lewis Airport in Cedar Key.Ī planned upgrade of the airport slowly started with annexation of land in 1988. It is one of two airports in the county, serving alongside the George T. It serves as a basic utility airport in Levy County for the City of Archer, City of Bronson, City of McIntosh, City of Reddick and the City of Williston. You can easily figure out the x, y for the 2nd and 3rd button and map to another button or even keyboard commands. In 1974, the facility was deeded to the City of Williston. click 51, 62 is x,y coordinates of the ATC windows and hits the top button, which is usually 'readback' of next request. It appears to have been closed by the end of 1944. Even though I'm practicing the details, I was still spending a lot of time trying to find the short cut.For the World War II use of this facility, see Montbrook Army Airfield.įormerly known as Montbrook Army Air Field during World War II, the airfield was opened as a US Army Air Forces installation on January 1, 1942. Since the feature appears not to be in X-plane, I can move on and stop spending so much time trying to find it. I'm sure I can eventually get the mixture and everything up to par, but I was hoping to at least have an autostart feature like in MSFS so that I could compare what I stumble into through trial and error with the proper settings. It was then that I realized that I couldn't start the engine and started this quest. I recently turned it off while until I was ready to start my flight. I didn't disable the feature of having the engine on when starting. But still have problems with simple things, as you can see, like starting the engine. I've been working with it for about a year and can finally take off without problems. But X-Plane appears to require a real flight school. I was easily flying the C172 in a couple of days. I learn to fly all the planes in MSFS within a months time. I probably should have mentioned that I'm coming from Microsoft Flight Simulator. It may take a few seconds for the engine to start. Engage the Starter motor ( CTRL 1 ) and hold the keys down until the engine fires. It may help to advance the throttle a little. Make sure that the aircraft Battery is ON and the fuel mixture is set to RICH. This command only engages engine #1s starter motor. The CTRL 1 command, found under SETTINGS / JOYSTICK and EQUIPMENT / KEYS, is called STARTERS / ENGAGE_STARTER_1. As far as I am aware, no such command exists in X-plane, only the " Start each flight with engines running" option which I presume you have found and disabled. CTRL E is the command in Flight Simulator to get the Aircraft to an engine(s) running state. I'm still experimenting with the controls, and if I get it figured out I'll update the topic. With the topic live hopefully someone else will chime in. When you release it, the engine stops turning. Of course the CTRL 2 doesn't do anything and the CTRL 1 will turn the engine, but it will only turn while you hold the CTRL 1 down. Having the engine running before actually staring my session causes me to either be out of fuel when I start, or the plane drift from the desired starting position.Īnyway, the C172 only has one engine. But at present I'm basically trying to just get in the air. I see options for going thought a complex startup method of which I'll explore in the future. I'm excited about the prospect of being able to start X-Plane from a point of no engine running. Hi there, the keys for starting engines are CTRL 1 for engine number 1, CTRL 2 for engine number 2 etc.
